Flint Central's 50th Reunion (2013) Fundraiser
Class of 63' "Give Back Project"
"We all went to and graduated from Flint Central in 1963. We felt like we got the best we could get from our school and from our town. If we worked hard, our goals and hopes would come true...and most of the time they did. They weren't given to us, but Central was where we got the education and confidence that we could be the people we wanted to be. The so called glory days of Flint, MI." written by Pat Cole-Churchill
With her suggestion of making our 50th Reunion even better, we should consider giving back in some way and with the help of Holly Montgomery-Plamadon, Barb Lueck-Steinkraus and Pat the "Boys and Girls Club Education Fund" was chosen.
So your FCHS Committee and Committee At Large formed the "Give Back Project" to maybe in a small way show our appreciation for what was done for us 50 years ago.
You can still give back by making a donation or by volunteering your time to make a difference in the lives of the Boys and Girls Club youth. Below is their web site to find out any details. Continue "TO GIVE BACK" representing the FCHS Class of 1963. ◊◊◊

From one of their September Newsletter Flint Central High School
Class of 1963 Volunteer Experience
With their
50th high school reunion held last Saturday, some members of the
Flint Central High School class of 1963 decided to take this
opportunity to give back to their home town by volunteering and
collecting donations for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint!
It was a great experience for everyone, especially the teens who
had the chance to sit down and ask some of the volunteers
questions about life in Flint in the when they were growing up.
It was a great group of volunteers which included an anti-gang
specialist experienced in working with kids. He ran a special
team building activity exercise in the fitness room for club
members! Also a part of the group was a former librarian who
painted a beautiful picture with a young club member in the art
room and a retired high school special education teacher who
realized she still knew how to play Foosball and beat some of
the club members in the game room!
As a
group the reunion raised more than $1,400 in support of the Boys
& Girls Club of Greater Flint!
Thank you again Central High School class of 1963 for your
support

Here is an email sent to Holly Montgomery-Plamadon from Sarah Pinder, Development Director after our Reunion Hi Holly, It was wonderful to work with you on this initiative and I sincerely apologize for my delayed response. In total $1,441 was collected from your class! The partnership with your reunion has been highlighted at our Board Meeting, also in our September e-newsletter that goes to more than 1,000 people, and through Facebook posts the day the volunteers came to the Club. I think the added benefits of this experience were the interactions between the reunion volunteers and the Boys and Girls Club youth members. If you have additional ideas for promotion, please let me know. Thank you, Sarah
